Ever since Uday left us to seek further adventures in the beyond, we have sought to find definition and meaning to our lives. With this in mind, the idea of establishing an educational Trust was conceived. The UDAY PUBLIC CHARITABLE TRUST was registered on September 24, 2005. The trust endeavors to provide education and support to the children of those who sacrificed their all to secure our nation’s future. Through this Trust we hope to bring some hope and cheer back into their lives.
In the first year of its inception, we were able to secure sponsorship for three young girls – all children of soldiers killed in action and belonging to 1 Para SF. Today, we have over 10 children getting educated through the trust. All of them are children of martyred soldiers, whose families struggled with their school fees. Thanks to our sponsors, we are able to pay for the education of these children in good boarding and day-schools schools such as; APS Dagshai, Ryan’s International Noida, PRTC Bangalore, and DAV Public School Alampur Kangra.
It may not always be possible to find individual sponsors for individual children. Our biggest challenge, therefore, is building a corpus so that many more such children come under its fold. In this we look forward to your help and support. All donations to the Uday Public Charitable Trust are exempt from income tax u/s 80G of the Income Tax Act. All sponsors will be provided with receipts of payments along with regular updates on the progress of the child being sponsored.
